Job Title: Manager/Sr. Manager- Government Relations

Reports To: Chief Supply Chain Development Officer

Location: Bengaluru/Chennai

Job Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Manager /Sr. Manager- Government Relations (CPRF) at Plastics For Change located in Bengaluru/Chennai, with flexibility for remote work. As a Manager/Sr. Manager- Government Relations (CPRF), you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the fair-trade verified ethical sourcing platform that connects waste collectors, MRFs, scarp shops, and global brands. This includes collaborating with various government agencies, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Also responsible for implementing supply chain best practices and designing ethical sourcing methodologies, executing end-to-end logistics and product processes, and expanding the network of ethical suppliers.

The key focus areas of the Manager/Sr. Manager- Government Relations (CPRF) would be:

  • Networking and building partnerships with ULBs & RLBs to set up ‘Collaborative Plastics Recovery Facilities’.

  • Managing government, external stakeholders relations & affairs.

  • Leveraging the PFC core strengths to address the issues related to managing plastic waste in ULBs & RLBs.

  • Set clear expectations with ULB & RLB to manage plastic waste end-to-end.

  • Identifying & developing job work entrepreneurs to run & manage ‘Collaborative Plastics Recovery Facilities’.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required

  • Master’s/Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Sales / Marketing / Business Operations or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience working with waste management/plastics recycling supply chains, with solid experience in setting up MRFs/projects in collaboration with government bodies.

  • 4+ years of experience in government relations & affairs, entrepreneurship development / Income Generation Programs.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics practices, sustainability, and ESG frameworks.

  • Experience in working with suppliers in emerging markets, developing countries and/or informal sectors.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing government stakeholders, cross-functional and global teams, and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse partners and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for sustainability and ethical business practices.

  • Experience in working in a start-up/scale-up and fast-paced environment is preferred.

  • Experience in fair trade or fair labour practices is a plus.

  • Having high result-oriented experience in managing government relations.

  • Fluency in English, Hindi and other local languages is preferred.

CTC/Compensation

As per industry standards, performance bonus, medical Insurance, and fixed travel allowance.
