Role Summary
Plastics for Change is seeking a dynamic and passionate Manager - Sustainable Fabric Sales to join our mission of creating social and environmental impact through sustainable practices. This role will focus on driving sales for sustainable fabric solutions, particularly those made from recycled materials, and expanding our presence in the sustainable textile industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sustainable fabrics, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and strong business development skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Engagement
Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders including fashion brands, textile suppliers, sustainability partners, and industry networks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to promote adoption of recycled fabric solutions and ensure alignment on sustainability goals.
Represent the company in industry forums, trade events, and sustainability platforms to strengthen partnerships and amplify our impact.
2. Capacity Building
Train and empower internal teams and partners with knowledge about sustainable fabric innovations and ethical sourcing practices.
Organize and lead workshops, webinars, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance industry awareness of recycled fabric solutions.
Collaborate with supply chain stakeholders to improve sourcing capabilities, ensuring consistent quality and sustainability compliance.
3. Reporting and Documentation
Track and document sales performance and customer engagement metrics regularly.
Prepare detailed market analysis reports highlighting trends, opportunities, and challenges.
Provide periodic updates and strategic insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
4. General Responsibilities
Ensure professionalism and adherence to Plastics For Change’s SOPs and data privacy policies
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
Travel across project sites as required
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Textile Engineering/ Sustainability/ Environmental Science, or a related field preferable with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Knowledge of sustainability certifications and eco-labels, such as GRS OEKO-TEX, and Cradle to Cradle.
Experience in working with clients in the fashion or textile industry with established network with suppliers, distributors, fashion designers, and sustainability-focused organizations within the textile and fashion industries.
Proven track record of sales in the sustainable or eco-friendly fabric industry, particularly with fabrics made from recycled materials such as plastic or post-consumer waste. Knowledge of the recycled plastic market and its potential applications in textiles.
Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in sustainable textiles, recycling, or eco-friendly products.
Strong understanding of sustainable fabric options, particularly those derived from recycled materials.
Proven experience in sales leadership, account management, and business development.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Self-driven, goal-oriented, and results-focused.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Strong documentation, reporting, and data management capabilities
