JOB TITLE: Manager Operations- Polyolefins (Pugga)

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: COO

LOCATION: Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

1. Aggregation Centre and Project Management:

  • Network with various companies, vendors and stakeholders to identify right source of good quality raw materials in loose / bale form (Polyolefins- HDPE and PP)

  • Manage segregation of scrap ( Loose or Bale ) based on quality standards

  • Manage site level production teams to ensure production as planned

  • Suggest go-to-market strategies for sales

  • Create a market for different items of Pugga (Polyolefins- HDPE and PP)

  • Manage factory compliance and P&L account

  • Implement SOPs for the aggregation, segregation, QA and QC of plastic waste (Polyolefins- HDPE and PP).

  • Continuously improve SOP’s to optimize performance (Lean manufacturing principle and six sigma design process).

  • Identify and implement key projects and kaizens to increase productivity to hit the target

  • Ensure projects are implemented on time and as per approved budgets

2. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Ensure timely, concise and accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on prescribed formats on project progress

  • Standardise machine inspection check sheet, pre dispatch check sheet and operation check sheets at site level

  • Ensure segregation is carried out as per required quality standards

3. General responsibilities:

  • Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritisation of workload skills.

  • Ensure that the PFC policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company.

  • Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across PFC site locations, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per need of project or the company.

  • Work closely with the PFC team and Partners.

SKILLS, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Plastics Engineering. Master’s degree is a plus.

  • 7+ years of experience in Operations

  • Good Sales / Customer relationship management skills, good negotiation skill, good vendor / stakeholder management skill and very good networking skills

  • Good understanding of plastics and plastic recycling

  • Attention to detail

  • Multi- tasker, managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses the team and drives results

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Plastics For Change

  • Fluent in English & Tamil. In addition, Hindi would be an advantage
