Role Summary

This is a full-time onsite role for a Country Manager- Operations at Plastics For Change located in Greater Manila, Antipolo and Angeles region. As a Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the fair-trade verified ethical sourcing platform that connects waste collectors, MRFs, junk shops, recyclers and global brands. Segregation of collected plastics waste at Aggregation facility and final delivery to recyclers. Country Manager- Operations is responsible for overall P&L of the Philippines entity.

This role includes collaborating with various government agencies, stakeholders, recyclers and brands to set up the ethical supply chain of recycled plastics.  Also responsible for implementing supply chain best practices and designing ethical sourcing methodologies, executing end-to-end logistics and product processes and expanding the network of ethical suppliers and recyclers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, recyclers, MRFs, junk shops, and global brand partners.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional and global teams to implement the ethical supply chain model.

  • Represent the organization in regulatory and industry forums to support sustainability and fair trade initiatives.

2. Capacity Building

  • Develop and enhance the capabilities of local waste collectors, MRFs, and junk shops to align with ethical sourcing standards.

  • Train and empower partners across the supply chain on segregation, quality control, and fair-trade practices.

  • Strengthen relationships and coordination with government bodies, recyclers, and community stakeholders to build a sustainable and scalable supply chain.

3. Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of sourcing, logistics, and supply chain activities
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance, challenges, and achievements
• Ensure compliance documentation for fair-trade and ESG standards is consistently updated

4. General Responsibilities

  • Ensure professionalism and adherence to Plastics For Change’s SOPs and data privacy policies

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners

  • Travel across project sites as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s / Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Business Operations or any other related field.

  • 7+ years of experience working with waste management/plastics recycling facility, Operations, New plant setup, supply chains and logistics, with solid experience in procurement and material planning

  • Knowledge of recycled plastics supply chain and technicalities would be an added advantage 

  • Strong understanding of Operations, supply chain management and logistics practices, sustainability and ESG frameworks.

  • Experience in working with suppliers in emerging markets, developing countries, and/or informal sectors.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing government stakeholders, cross-functional and global teams, and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse partners and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for sustainability and ethical business practices.

  • Experience in working with start-ups / scale-ups and a fast-paced environment is preferred.

  • Experience in fair trade or fair labour practices is a plus

  • Having high result-oriented experience in managing government relations.

  • Fluency in English, Filipino and other local languages is preferred.

  • Strong documentation, reporting, and data management capabilities

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable
