Role Summary
This is a full-time role for an Associate/Sr. Associate- Sourcing & Compliance at Plastics For Change located in Kolkata, the Associate/Sr. Associate will closely collaborate with job work baler, scrap shops and Supply Partner Relationship Manager to ensure plastics sourcing and statutory compliance at the Supply Partner (job work baler) level.
The key focus areas of the Associate/Sr. Associate-Sourcing & Compliance would be:
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Compliance
1. Identifying, networking, mobilising and engaging key plastics suppliers across the informal sector such as Home Based Workers (HBW), Waste Collectors (WC), Itinerant Buyers (IB), Van Units (VU), Dry Waste Collection Centre (DWCC), Waste Pickers Community Leaders, Scrap Shops (SS), Wholesaler etc. to ethically source required plastics.
2. Supporting the above stakeholders to transform from the informal to the formal sector.
3. Enrolling and managing the above stakeholders on the PFC technology platform to do buy-sell transactions.
4. Building trust with the above stakeholders and maintaining strong working relationships to ensure consistent plastic sourcing.
5. Increasing plastic sourcing and supply from the above stakeholders by ensuring ethical sourcing and fair trade standards.
6. Facilitating management and client visits with the above stakeholders.
7. Implementing, managing and overseeing fair trade standards and statutory compliance at the Supply Partner (Job Work Baler) level.
8. Achieve WFTO, OBP and any other certification standards at the Supply Partner (Job Work Baler) level as required by PFC.
9. Passing internal and external audits.
10.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the above indicators.
11. Work towards implementing the industry's best practices and designing methodologies, tools and SoPs that contribute towards smooth compliance management.
2. Capacity Building
1. Conducting one-to-one capacity building to strengthen the above stakeholders' working efficiency w.r.t. PFC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), fair trade practices and various policies.
2. Conducting one-to-one CRM (mobile technology) training for the above stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability w.r.t. data management.
3. Strengthening and developing the above stakeholders on various social/govt requirements, statutory compliances and policies with the help of collaborative resources.
3. Reporting and Documentation
1. Maintaining various due diligence, compliance and other required documentation at the above stakeholder level, managing, monitoring and reviewing it periodically.
2. Ensuring timely, concise and accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on prescribed formats.
3. Ensuring timely, concise and accurate CRM updates and also ensuring the above stakeholders are updating it regularly.
4. General Responsibilities
1. Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritisation of workload skills.
2. Ensure that the PFC policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company.
3. Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.
4. Willingness to travel frequently across the supply chain, sometimes at
short notice, including other places as per the need of the project or company.
5. Work closely with the PFC team and Partners.

Qualifications & Experience
● Graduate with 3 + years of fieldwork experience in the informal sector/direct field sales.
● 1 to 2 years of experience in the field of Compliance will be an added advantage.
● Past Experience working in the fields of Urban or Rural Development, Environment, Community Relations / Interventions / Engagement, Plastic Recycling, and Waste Management will be helpful.
● Strong understanding of social and environmental concepts, and fair trade and compliance management.
● Experience in working in a start-up/scale-up and fast-paced environment is preferred.
● Experience in fair trade or fair labour practices is a plus.
● Fluency in the Local language (read, write and speak), English (read, write and speak) and Hindi (read and speak) are preferred.
