About Plastics For Change
Plastics For Change is a mission-driven social enterprise and certified B-Corp dedicated to restoring dignity to the informal waste sector. Our mobile platform connects waste pickers to global markets, ensuring fair prices for discarded plastic while creating verified, ethical supply chains for brands like The Body Shop and L’Oréal.
We are looking for a Project Manager who is not just a master of timelines and budgets, but a champion for circular economy solutions. You will be the bridge between our on-ground operations, our technology teams, and our global partners to drive projects that clean our oceans and uplift communities.
Role Summary
As a Project Manager, you will orchestrate the full lifecycle of critical initiatives—from setting up new collection centers to rolling out technology updates for our supply chain platform. You will ensure that every project we touch is delivered on time, within scope, and maximizes social and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Project Leadership
● Lead and manage projects end-to-end: Spearhead the full project lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution and Closure) for supply chain expansion and community development initiatives.
● Scope & Quality Control: Define clear project scopes and success criteria to ensure deliverables meet our Fair Trade verification standards and partner requirements.
● Financial Stewardship - Aid effective fund utilisation
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Coordinate with cross-functional teams: Act as the primary nexus between field operations (waste picker engagement), technology (app development), finance and sales/marketing teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
● Partner Management: Serve as the key point of contact for external partners—including recycling facility vendors, logistics providers, and corporate CSR representatives—to drive seamless project outcomes.
3. Strategic Planning & Risk Management
● Develop robust project plans: Construct detailed roadmaps, Gantt charts, and resource allocation plans that account for the complexities of working in the informal waste sector.
● Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential bottlenecks (e.g., supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes) and develop contingency strategies to prevent delays or budget overruns.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting
● Track progress & Impact: Monitor project health against key performance indicators (KPIs), such as tonnage of plastic recycled and number of livelihoods impacted.
● Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare transparent, data-driven status reports for internal leadership and external brand partners, highlighting milestones achieved and areas requiring attention.
Qualifications
● Experience: 4+ years of experience in Project Management, preferably in Supply Chain, Operations, or the Social Impact/NGO sector and has a demonstrated track record of managing projects upwards of INR 5 Cr. annually.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Environmental Science, or related field. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a strong plus.
● Tech Savvy: Proficiency in project management tools and comfort working with data.
● Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence and adaptability; ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders ranging from corporate executives to field workers.
● Passion: A genuine commitment to sustainability, circular economy, and poverty alleviation.
Why Join Us?
● Impact: Work on projects that directly reduce ocean plastic and pull families out of poverty.
● Culture: Join a diverse, passionate team that values transparency, innovation, and "changing the world" over "business as usual."
● Growth: Opportunity to work with global brands and gain expertise in the rapidly growing sector of sustainable supply chains.
● Growth: Compensation is as per industry standards with bonus cycle every 6 months
