JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Associates - Business Development

REPORTS TO: Manager - Business Development

LOCATION: Vijayawada, Chennai, Kolkata, Patna and Pune

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Associate - Business Development at Plastics For Change located in Pune, with flexibility for remote work.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct market research for the allocated location to identify potential sources for plastic material.

  • Build and maintain a database of reliable plastic waste suppliers.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure a steady and reliable supply chain.

  • Ensure cost-effective procurement of plastic waste materials.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards and stay informed about legal requirements related to plastic waste sourcing.

  • Coordinate with the logistics team for efficient procurement.

  • Address any issues or challenges related to the sourcing of plastic waste, find solutions and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, including quantities and costs.

  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and regional factors affecting plastic waste sourcing.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the sourced plastic waste meets specified standards. Conduct regular quality checks and inspections.

  • Support the implementation of eco-friendly initiatives in the sourcing process.

  • Ensure that suppliers adhere to safety protocols by providing training and guidance to suppliers regarding compliance with safety standards.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritisation of workload skills.

  • Ensure that the PFC policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company.

  • Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across PFC site locations, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per need of project or the company.

  • Work closely with the PFC team and Partners.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualification – Graduate/Post Graduate

  • Experience – 3+ years of experience in the waste management field.

  • Good understanding of plastics and plastic recycling

  • Attention to detail

  • Multi-tasker, managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses the team and drives results

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Plastics For Change

SKILLS:

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work.

  • Project management skills.

  • Be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the industry and markets.

  • Ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders.

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to understand individual's motivations

  • Open to new challenges.

  • Good data management, documentation and reporting skills.

  • Good computer skills – MS Office and Working on CRM tools.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
